ACL Recovery & Return to Sport Like a Pro!

(*Operating out of LEVEL4 PT & Pilates). Listen up how Dr. Oscar Andalon, DPT, Sports Performance Expert, and former PRO soccer player understands that coming back after an ACL tear can be frightening and how many rehab programs are NOT fully preparing you for the demands of competition again.

!!! Attention Athletes !!!

"Do You Want To Be Confident About Your Return To Sport And Know You Are Ready To Compete At The Highest Level Without Risk Of Returning Too Soon...

...Do You Want Access To The Same Testing Professional Athletes Use For Sport Readiness, Then We Have The Solution You Have Been Looking For."

Dear Athlete,

Whether you are an athlete recovering from ACL surgery, an ankle sprain, hip surgery, or a fracture you are most likely wondering if you will be able to return to sport at the highest level of competition without limitation, pain, or further risk of injury.  If you are nearing the end of your rehabilitation and are concerned physical therapy, rest, and time were not enough to prepare you for your sport, then what I am about to tell you may be the best news you hear all year.

As an athlete, you understand that to perform your best you need to work hard, challenge yourself, and go beyond your current limits and recovering from surgery or injury is no different, and in fact, probably much more challenging since you have to overcome physical and mental hurdles.  It is no wonder that many athletes, just like you, feel that physical therapy and rehabilitation is just "not challenging enough" leaving you concerned and wondering if you have really done enough to get back to 100%.

Plus, returning back to participation means practicing things like running, cutting, kicking, and reacting to variable situations.  Most often, this part of rehabilitation is either not performed or you are "discharged" from physical therapy before this point.  The issue is that most insurance companies, and maybe even your GP, don't understand that the requirements for sport far outweigh the requirements to complete "standard" physical therapy....

"If You Want To Be Confident That You Are 100% Ready To Return To Sport, And That You Are Able To Perform Sports Movements Without Compensations At Top Speed, Power, And Agility...Read On To Find Out How We Are Changing Sports Rehab In The San Diego Area...."

Before we tell you exactly how our systems, tests, and training help you return to sport at competition level let us first separate ourselves from other physical therapy and training centers in the area.

The testing and training we provide is nothing like what is passed off as "return to sport training" at other facilities.

In fact, our return to sport test is unlike any other test in the San Diego Area. Most other centers will test your leg strength, ability to run, and if you are lucky your jumping ability.  Unfortunately, they are only looking at your recovery from a pass/fail criteria instead of the actual biomechanics of human performance.  Compensation is common after surgery and it needs to be caught BEFORE you are at risk for additional injury.

As a former collegiate athlete and earning All-American honors, I 100% understand the demands of high level athlete competition. So not only am I a Doctor of Physiotherapy, but I also am a very competitive athlete just like you!

Since sports movement happens at fast speeds, it is impossible to pick up specific movement errors with the naked eye alone.  Having worked with 100s of athletes who came to us following rehab at other facilities, we have realized "standard" physical therapy was missing the mark on ensuring athletes a safe and explosive return to sport.

After studying and learning from the best biomechanical specialists in the country, we built a top-of-the-line testing and sport training facility.

Using video analysis, functional movement screens, sport specific and functional capacity testing, we are able to track specific real-time sports data for motions such as jumping, cutting, and decelerating.  No other facility in the area is equipped with this level of testing!

Plus, using specific test data, we are able to pinpoint areas of weakness and provide a specific "return to sport score" that helps determine your risk for injury.  We also compare combine testing scores, used by professional athletes in the NHL, MLS, NBA and NFL, to a database of over 50,000 athletes which provides head to head assessment against peers of your same age, sport, and competition level. We opened LEVEL4 PT to revolutionize sport rehabilitation, testing, and performance training.  Now athletes of every level can be tested and trained like the pros!

What is Return to Sport Testing?

A return to sport assessment is designed to assess biomechanical sport motion to determine an athletes prognosis for a safe return to sport. LEVEL4 will create a personalized and dynamic training program to develop patient-specific rehabilitation for a safe return to sport.

Do I Need Return to Sport Testing?

It is estimated that non-contact injuries account for 70% of all ACL tears in the United States!

This means that 70% of the people who tear their ACL due so because of poor biomechanics, strength, flexibility, or power.   Research shows that movement errors are present in BOTH legs following ACL surgery. Movements such as landing from a jump and cutting, when observed correctly, can detect these movement errors allowing corrective programs to be utilized. It is therefore imperative to test athletes for biomechanical movement errors after injury or surgery.

The LEVEL4 Advantage

Our state-of-the-art practice is fitted with specialized equipment allowing assessment of sport motion in real time at game speed ensuring the highest level of transfer.

This is the most advanced return to sport assessment and clinic in the San Diego Area. Our equipment is state-of-the-art providing assessment of joint motion within 1 degree of movement.

Our expertise, experience, and equipment will ensure you return safely to sport at the highest performance.

Injury Prediction Testing

After an injury, athletes want to know how likely they are to become injured again.  After going through months of rehabilitation and significant time away from their sport they want to confidently return without having to worry about another injury.

LEVEL4 is the leader in athletic testing and injury prediction.  Using specialized software, and combine level sports tests, we are able to compare test results to averages of each sport, position, age, and gender for unparalleled injury prediction.  This data is combined without our biomechanical sport motion testing to provide a comprehensive prediction of injury risk with return to play.

Don't just rely on absence of pain, full range of motion, and full strength to determine return to sport readiness but instead rely on proven testing and real-time game speed assessment.

Recently, at the First World Congress on Sports Physical Therapy, the importance of return to play testing was discussed.  The same testing, they advised using at the world congress we use here at LEVEL4!

Here's What Other Athletes Are Saying About ACL Rehab At LEVEL4

"My experience with Dr. Oscar was fantastic! I had bounced around with other physical therapists for a couple years trying to rehab my knee. After my first session with Dr. Oscar I knew I had found the answer. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable but also takes the time to explain everything in a way I could understand. He also treats you in a way I've never see at a PT do before. This allows him to measure your progress and clearly show and quantify how you've improved. After working with him for a couple months my knee is in better shape than it has been in years. I will, without a doubt, visit him in the future for any injury related issues and refer anyone who is in need."

"Dr. Oscar has really helped me improve in a lot of ways... speed, strength and just my mentality has grown a lot about wanting to play soccer...  It's a great program and you learn a lot about the different thing that they do differently from the rest. Within a few weeks I noticed I got stronger on the ball, I was getting into tackles harder and I was putting up a fight more than what I used to. Thank you!!"
